Mrs. Avelina Baledas, 68, Beng’s mother, knew God as her Jehovah-Rapha when she was completely healed in her right ear in one of Calvary church Sunday services. Avelina became deaf in her right ear two years ago in the Philippines as a result of an overdose of flu medicine prescribed by her doctor.

When Avelina came to HK three months ago to visit Beng and Allan, she faithfully followed them to church week after week even though she could not quite understand English. One Sunday, as Pastor John Malcolm gave an altar call for those who need to receive healing, this shy, soft-spoken lady walked up to the altar in faith believing that God will restore her hearing in her right ear. As Pastor John prayed, she felt a strange “buzzing” sensation in her right ear accompanied by a shot of pain. When the “buzzing” sensation subsided, she realized that she could hear again through her right ear.

Avelina is now back in the Philippines completely healed and giving glory to God.
